Quality Inspector

The Quality Inspector ensures that products meet internal and customer quality standards by performing in-process, incoming, and final inspections on the production floor. This role focuses on visual and dimensional inspection of a variety of parts and materials, accurate documentation of inspection results, and timely identification and tagging of non-conforming products. The Quality Inspector supports continuous quality improvement by maintaining detailed records, using inspection tools effectively, and collaborating closely with production and quality teams.

• Roam the production floor to perform in-process inspections and verify that products meet established quality standards.
• Conduct visual checks of products during roaming inspections to identify defects or irregularities.
• Perform incoming inspections, in-process inspections, and final audits on parts and materials.
• Carry out visual and simple dimensional inspections on raw materials, plated, anodized, heat-treated, and painted parts.
• Use hand-held gauges, such as calipers, micrometers, height gauges, and pin gauges, to measure and verify product dimensions.
• Generate accurate inspection reports, distribute them to relevant stakeholders, and file them as required.
• Document non-conforming products when detected and properly attach Red Tags and Red HC tags to identify and segregate them.
• Complete and maintain all documentation in accordance with customer and internal requirements, including filing material and product certificates.
• Utilize computer applications such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook to record data, prepare reports, and communicate findings.
• Support quality assurance and quality control activities by following established procedures and contributing to continuous improvement.
• Collaborate with production and quality personnel to address quality issues and ensure corrective actions are implemented.
• Learn and apply proper techniques for using inspection tools and gauges to ensure accurate and consistent measurements.

• Experience working with gauges such as calipers and micrometers.
• Multiple years of experience in quality inspecting.
• Strong computer literacy, including proficiency with Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
• Ability to perform visual inspection and simple dimensional inspection of parts and materials.
• Ability to document inspection results accurately and maintain organized records.
• Capability to identify and document non-conforming products and follow tagging procedures.
• Willingness to work overtime as needed.
• Bilingual communication skills.
• Attention to detail and strong observational skills for visual and dimensional checks.
• Comfort working on the production floor and interacting with manufacturing processes.

• Experience with metal stamping and fabrication processes such as laser cutting, forming, welding, and assembly.
• Knowledge of ISO 9001 quality management systems.
• Knowledge of IATF standards is a bonus.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints.
• Familiarity with quality control and quality assurance practices in a manufacturing environment.
• Experience using a variety of gauges, including height gauges and pin gauges.
• Understanding of inspection reporting and non-conformance documentation processes.

The role is based in a newer, well-organized, and tidy manufacturing facility. The building is not temperature controlled, so conditions may vary with the seasons, but you will work around new equipment and a structured production environment. The position is primarily on the production floor, using hand-held gauges and standard office software for documentation and reporting. Overtime may be required based on production and quality needs, and you will collaborate closely with production and quality teams in a hands-on, shop-floor setting.

This is a Permanent position based out of Mundelein, IL.

The pay range for this position is $21.00 - $26.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
