Clinical Manager - OPS/Endoscopy

$88.06 - $110 per hour

Department:
Outpatient Surgery

The Manager has responsibility for leading, controlling, planning, organizing and evaluating the timely, effective and efficient delivery of the department's operations on a 24-hour basis. Through the incorporation of the Hospital's goals and objectives and nurse professional practice, this position is responsible for ensuring that the department performs to the highest possible standard within the resources made available, thus ensuring the delivery of quality care and service to patients, staff and visitors. The manager is accountable to the director. The manager acts as a role model, has accountability for the departmental budget and Position Control, ensures the consistent application of the Hospital's policies and procedures and fosters teamwork within and between areas of responsibility. The manager is also responsible for promoting specialized knowledge and skills through the support of staff education and professional development.

Primary Duties:
  • Provides leadership and direction regarding departmental performance.
  • Sets the standard for departmental behavior, and provides and promotes a positive working environment for departmental staff to ensure strong employee morale, motivation and productivity.
  • Holds accountability for the departmental budget and Position Control and takes necessary action to remain within balance and address variances.
  • Reviews operational information and ensures systems are in place to monitor, review and revise procedures in order to maximize resource utilization within the department.
  • Incorporates systems and procedures to ensure the department's role and function in the Hospital supports the delivery of the highest possible standard of patient care and customer service within available resources.
  • Maintains and reviews all aspects of organizational compliance as it relates to the department.
  • Anticipates issues affecting the department's function and activity that may affect service delivery to patients, staff and visitors, and ensures actions are taken to address issues in close cooperation with Administration, Directors and peers.
  • Develops a strong, collaborative relationship with Administrators, Directors, peers, and other key individuals across the Hospital, and fosters a multi-disciplinary teamwork approach to decision-making and problem resolution.
  • Develops strong relationships with appropriate external constituencies relevant to the department in order to promote community relations and marketing programs, thus ensuring the Hospital is responsive to the community's developing needs and maintains a favorable image in the eye of the community.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
Job Requirements:

Education: Bachelor of Science in Nursing required.


Licensure: State of California Registered Nurse license required.

Certification: Current BLS Healthcare Provider status as per American Heart Association required. ACLS & PALS required, New hires/transfers have up to six (6) months to meet requirements. Maintains unit specific life safety certifications required of staff nurses in assigned department(s).

Maintains a minimum of one ANCC Magnet Recognition Program-eligible certification. Effective 1/1/2026, incumbent has one year to obtain certification. New hire/transfers have one (1) year from date of hire or transfer to obtain certification.

Experience/Knowledge: Three (3) years of clinical nursing experience related to clinical area of specialization as required by department, including one (1) year of management, supervisory or leadership experience.

Substantial knowledge of:
  • Current nursing principles, theories and practices.
  • Laws, regulations and hospital guidelines pertaining to professional nursing care of patients.
  • Principles of CQI and ability to apply these principles including PDSA to improve unit work.
  • Ability to promote effective collaboration and teamwork among individuals of multiple disciplines and across organizational boundaries.
  • Fiscal management skills to prepare monitor and control budgets and reduce expenses.
Specific Duties:
  • Serves as a resource and role model to staff regarding current nursing theory and trends.
  • Plans, organizes, evaluates and monitors all management activities of assigned departments.

  • Make independent decisions and provide counsel and advice to Administration, Director, employees and medical staff
  • Exercise good judgment and tact in providing leadership, guidance and assistance

Pay Range: The hourly rate for this position is $88.06 - $110.00. The range displayed on this job posting reflects the target for new hire salaries for this position.
