As a Speech-Language Pathologist, you’ll support a diverse student population near Oakland, CA, working just one full day each week. This contract position is ideal for SLPs looking to balance professional growth with personal commitments.
You’ll provide direct services to three school-age students and a preschooler who receives therapy off campus. In addition to conducting a pending assessment, you'll collaborate with educators and families to tailor interventions that foster communication skills and confidence in every child you serve. Enjoy a workday that runs between 8:45 a.m. and 3 p.m., totaling 6–8 hours each week, making this an excellent fit for those seeking to supplement their caseload or focus on a manageable, impactful assignment.
What we’re looking for:
- Valid Speech-Language Pathologist license in California (or eligibility)
- Previous school-based SLP experience strongly preferred
- Strong communication, organization, and documentation skills
- Experience conducting assessments and developing individualized therapy plans
- Comfort working with preschoolers as well as elementary-aged students
- Commitment to fostering a supportive, inclusive educational environment
Key responsibilities include:
- Providing direct therapy services as outlined in student IEPs
- Performing a pending assessment and delivering data-driven reports
- Consulting and collaborating with school staff and families
- Documenting progress and maintaining appropriate records
- Adapting strategies to meet each student’s unique needs
