Structural Engineer III - PE

Job Description Position Summary: This role will provide engineering and consulting services for a broad array of projects and clients. This may include leading engineering analysis, calculations, and recommendations, design and development of plans and specifications, and the writing, preparation, and review of reports or calculation packages for the services provided. Review drawings and construction documents to assure compliance with plans and specifications. Research and resolve design and construction problems. Apply sound engineering principles and be able to communicate complex engineering issues and concepts to technical and non-technical clients and project teams. Services may be provided for existing or proposed projects in the public works, commercial, theme entertainment, energy, and/or industrial sectors. Structural Engineer III Responsibilities Structural engineering. Professional Engineering Sign and Sealing. Support business development including relationship management with customers, new customer recruiting and presentations. Coordination of and/or preparation of engineering drawings, specifications, calculations, analytical models, reports, and correspondence. Construction administration including review of shop drawings, submittals, and RFI’s. Lead project specific meetings to discuss a multitude of potential subjects including but not limited to: project design, scope, schedules, etc. as required. Requires comprehensive knowledge and experience in own discipline. Understands the goals of the business and how own area of specialization supports those goals. Solves moderately complex issues; takes a new perspective using existing solutions. Works independently, receives minimal guidance. Acts as a lead for projects and mentor for colleagues with less experience. Skills/Qualifications Professional Engineering Licensure, ability to sign and seal, or ready to within 6 months. In-depth understanding of engineering principles and structural design practices. Expertise with building fundamentals and design codes and standards such as IBC, ASCE, AISC and ACI. Expertise with structural programs such as SAP2000, ETABS, SAFE, RISA, AutoCAD, and REVIT. Strong technical skills, excellent verbal, and written communications. Knowledge of increasing the value of BCE through the development of relationships, markets, and customers. Excellent planning and organizational skills for our fast-paced environment. Highly motivated, proactive, and willing to take on new challenges. Ability to make Excel spreadsheets and/or use other mathematical software (Mathcad) to document calculations and design decisions. Ability to read and interpret Contract Documents including but not limited to, architectural drawings, structural drawings, project specifications and estimator takeoffs. Ability to interact and communicate effectively (both written and oral) with clients, Architects, and Engineers (on an as needed basis). General understanding of construction practices, principles, methods, and techniques. Education and Experience Four-year degree in Engineering (Civil or Structural). 5+ years preferred as a practicing Structural Engineer. Professional Engineering Licensure (or PE ready within 6 months). Location and Travel Hybrid Remote Position in Orlando, Florida - 1 office day per week, Orlando Area Client Onsite.
