Radiologic Technologist, PRN, POOL

Eligibility & Qualifications Education: Must have completed the curriculum of a recognized school of radiologic technology and hold certification from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists; maintain this status while employed at Unity Health. Recent graduates must be actively pursuing the Registry. Training and Experience: Prefer 1 year of radiologic experience. Job Knowledge: Knowledge of radiographic examinations and procedures requiring contrast agents, radiographic equipment operations, radiation safety, patient transfer and positioning techniques. Safety Sensitive: YES Description Coordinates and performs diagnostic radiographic cases for all patients. Maintains open, accurate, and responsive communication, oral or written, with individuals or groups. Able to handle multiple tasks/projects, meet deadlines, demonstrate ethical and professional conduct. Flexible to work overtime, on‑call duty, and disaster work as required by workload and unforeseen circumstances. Must have a good understanding of age‑related developmental issues from pediatrics to geriatrics. Physical Effort Worker must adjust to performing routine, repetitive tasks without specific supervision. Perform within a radiation area; may be frequently exposed to blood, body fluids/tissues, electromagnetic radiation, gamma, and x‑rays. Must be independently mobile and able to manage physically aggressive patients, transport patients on stretchers or in wheelchairs, and move portable x‑ray machines. Capable of lifting 50 lbs. without assistance, reaching, stooping, and bending while maintaining good mechanical body position. Must wear protective lead aprons and gloves during examinations and perform tasks for long periods. Manual dexterity sufficient to operate radiographic equipment. Hearing and visual acuity sufficient to perform examinations and observe patients, read monitors and documents, and hear equipment alarms. Should work within limited space and in bright or low‑lighted examination rooms and travel locally and elsewhere (including overnight stays) to attend seminars. Mental Effort Position requires the ability to concentrate on fine detail with constant interruption and attend to tasks for 20‑45 minutes at a time. Must understand and relate to concepts behind specific ideas and remember multiple tasks over long periods. Must communicate verbally using an advanced level of vocabulary. Interpersonal skills necessary to interact effectively with patients and families of all ages, radiology/nuclear medicine staff, referring physicians and residents, nursing scheduling, patient escort services, and administration who may be under physical and/or emotional stress.
