Assistant Project Manager

Overview Assistant Project Manager at Chaparral Company — this role supports project sales, planning, and execution within the insulation, HVAC, and plumbing sectors. Responsibilities Project Sales & Customer Relations: Assist in project sales efforts and develop strong relationships with clients to understand their needs and ensure satisfaction. Cost Estimation: Utilize the MIKE estimating system to accurately estimate project costs, including labor, materials, and time requirements. Project Planning & Documentation: Plan, budget, oversee, and document all aspects of assigned projects, ensuring that all necessary records are maintained. Operational Management Support: Aid in managing the operational capabilities of the division to enhance efficiency and effectiveness. Productivity Monitoring: Monitor productivity levels and address any challenges that arise with the labor pool, including documentation of performance issues and achievements. Quality & Safety Enforcement: Enforce the Company’s Quality and Safety Programs to ensure compliance and promote a safe working environment. Performance Optimization: Drive performance and production, ensuring projects are completed on or under budget and within established timelines. Other Duties as Assigned: Perform additional tasks and responsibilities as directed by your supervisor to support overall project goals and company objectives. Qualifications Knowledge of mechanical insulation materials, HVAC systems, and plumbing codes, with a solid understanding of their application in commercial and industrial settings. Proven experience in project management or a related field, particularly in the insulation, HVAC, or plumbing industries. Strong organizational, communication, and leadership skills, with a focus on fostering collaboration among project teams and clients. Ability to multitask and manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail. Self-motivated with the ability to perform duties with minimal guidance, demonstrating initiative and problem-solving skills. Familiarity with project management software and tools, including cost estimation systems like MIKE, is a plus.
