(OTS) Mechanical Calibration Technician
Rockford, IL | Full-Time | Monday–Friday | $26–$35/hour

As an Onsite Technical Service (OTS) Technician, you’ll work directly at our client’s location, calibrating precision measurement equipment while building your expertise in dimensional, mechanical, pressure, and torque calibration.

Established in 1991, TMI Calibration is an ISO/IEC 17025-accredited laboratory providing comprehensive calibration, repair, and asset management services for test equipment. With multiple full-service laboratories across the U.S., TMI specializes in automated and onsite calibration, clean room certifications, and customized solutions for customers across a range of industries.

What You’ll Do

• Calibrate precision test equipment including micrometers, calipers, oscilloscopes, multimeters, signal generators, etc.
• Review and issue accurate calibration certificates.
• Perform data entry and monitor calibration orders and workflow.
• Assist with inventory control and customer service communication.
• Prepare technical reports, records, and other required documentation.
• Assist with electrical equipment calibration and testing under supervision.
• Maintain a clean, organized laboratory and support daily workflow.
• Perform administrative and office duties as needed.
• Take on additional responsibilities and assignments as required.

Requirements and Skills:

• Experience calibrating dimensional, mechanical, pressure, and/or electrical equipment.
• Strong attention to detail and a commitment to accurate, error-free work.
• Excellent organizational and time-management skills with the ability to meet deadlines.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with team and customers.
• Customer service, administrative, or data-entry experience is a plus.
• Preferred: DOD, PMEL, or military calibration experience.
• U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident status required.
• Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
