Role Description

This is a full-time remote role for a Senior Accountant – QuickBooks & Bank Reconciliation. The successful candidate will manage end-to-end bookkeeping and accounting activities, maintain accurate financial records, and oversee accounts payable and accounts receivable.

Responsibilities include performing detailed bank and credit card reconciliations, matching transactions, investigating discrepancies, and resolving reconciliation issues promptly. The role also requires advanced QuickBooks proficiency, including account setup, chart of accounts management, and financial reporting.

The Senior Accountant will support month-end and year-end closing processes, collaborate with internal stakeholders to provide clear financial insights, assist with audits, maintain internal controls, and ensure compliance with applicable accounting standards and company policies.

Key Responsibilities

Manage day-to-day bookkeeping and accounting activities, ensuring accurate and complete financial records.

Perform bank and credit card reconciliations in QuickBooks and resolve discrepancies, unmatched transactions, and outstanding items.

Configure and maintain QuickBooks accounts, chart of accounts, and accounting records.

Prepare journal entries, maintain general ledger accounts, and oversee accounts payable and receivable.

Generate financial reports and assist with financial analysis and reporting.

Support month-end and year-end closing, including account reconciliations and adjustments.

Maintain accounting documentation and support internal and external audits.

Uphold financial controls, data integrity, and compliance with company policies.

Communicate financial findings and discrepancies clearly to internal stakeholders.

Qualifications

Strong proficiency in QuickBooks Online and/or QuickBooks Desktop, including account setup, chart of accounts management, and financial reporting.

Demonstrated hands-on experience performing bank and credit card reconciliations and resolving discrepancies accurately and promptly.

Solid understanding of accounting principles, general ledger management, journal entries, accounts payable and receivable, and month-end close.

Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and experience working with financial data, reports, and spreadsheets.

Familiarity with other accounting or ERP systems is an advantage.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with excellent attention to detail and a commitment to financial accuracy.

Effective written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to explain financial information to non-finance stakeholders.

Ability to work independently in a remote environment, manage competing priorities, and meet deadlines.

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred; CPA or another relevant professional certification is an advantage.

Previous experience in a senior or lead accounting role, preferably in consulting, professional services, or a transformation-focused organization.
