Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate import shipments with customers and vendors
- Prepare and submit data to U.S. Customs and other government agencies (e.g., FDA)
- Process and audit shipping documents for accuracy and compliance
- Monitor shipment status and arrange trucking/drayage services
- Coordinate warehouse receiving and delivery schedules
- Approve vendor invoices and generate customer billing
- Arrange terminal payments (e.g., Pier Pass, CargoSprint, PayCargo)
- Maintain organized and compliant shipment files
- Communicate with steamship lines, terminals, brokers, truckers, and internal teams
- Resolve administrative-level issues to meet customer deadlines
Required:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Strong organizational, communication, and time management skills
- Proficiency in English (written and spoken)
- Basic arithmetic and computer skills
- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
- Experience in freight forwarding, logistics coordination, warehousing, or trucking
- Knowledge of U.S. Customs procedures
- Experience with Tradepoint Alliance or similar systems
- 2-4 years of related experience or college coursework
- Reports to Import Manager
- Office-based role; occasional warehouse exposure (appropriate attire required)
- No supervisory responsibilities
- Must be currently authorized to work in the United States. No visa sponsorship is available for this role.
