Seeking a Civil Litigation Attorney to manage litigation matters from inception through resolution.

Position Overview

A law firm is seeking a Litigation Attorney with 4+ years of experience to join its Houston office. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in insurance defense litigation, including first-party insurance matters and coverage-related issues. Candidates should have spent the majority of their careers representing defendants, preferably at Texas defense firms or in insurance carrier staff counsel settings, handling auto liability, premises liability, and similar tort matters.

Responsibilities

• Manage litigation matters from inception through resolution.

• Handle motion practice, court hearings, depositions, and case strategy development.

• Analyze and advise on insurance coverage issues and first-party insurance claims.

• Conduct legal research and draft pleadings, motions, and other legal documents.

• Provide litigation strategy recommendations and legal analysis to clients from a defense perspective.

• Manage high-volume litigation dockets while adhering to carrier billing guidelines and reporting requirements.

• Maintain effective communication with insurance carriers and clients regarding case status and litigation strategy.

Qualifications

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.

• Active Texas Bar license.

• Minimum of 4 years of litigation experience.

• Significant insurance defense experience, preferably with Texas defense firms or insurance carrier staff counsel offices.

• Experience handling auto liability, premises liability, and related tort litigation.

• Experience with insurance coverage matters and first-party insurance claims.

• Demonstrated ability to work within carrier billing guidelines and manage a high-volume caseload.

• Strong legal research, writing, analytical, and advocacy skills.

• Superior academic credentials.

• Candidates whose experience is primarily plaintiff-side litigation will not be considered.
