Job Title: IR RN Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Radiology Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day Shift Hours per Shift: 10.5 hours Experience: Minimum 2 years License: Registered Nurse License Certifications: BLS & ACLS Must-Have: - Minimum 1 year of current acute care IR RN hospital experience - Candidates without these skills will not be considered for the role Description: This is a travel position for an IR RN. The role involves working in a vascular radiology unit. The unit consists of a 5-bay holding room, an IR suite with 3 rooms, and a CT suite with 3 rooms. Staff includes 5 nurses and 5 radiologic technologists. Patients will undergo outpatient procedures during the hours of 7:00 AM to 5:30 PM. There is a call requirement overnight. Nurse-to-patient ratios are 1:1 during procedures and 3-4 patients in the holding room, depending on acuity. Candidates with prior experience in a large trauma facility are preferred. Typical procedures performed in this unit include kyphoplasty, Y-90 procedures, peripheral interventions, stroke and trauma cases, diagnostic cerebral cases, drain placements, and biopsies. Thrombolysis and neuro coiling cases are also common. The ideal candidate is flexible with change and able to work in different radiology modalities throughout the day. A positive outlook and patient care experience are priorities.
