Job Description

Scott County Schools is hiring an Elementary Art Teacher for the 2026-2027 school year. This position requires:

• Plan a program for students that follows district guidelines and meets the individual needs, interests, and abilities of students.
• Create a classroom environment conducive to learning and appropriate to the maturity and interests of students.
• Guide the learning process toward the mastery of curriculum goals and establish clear objectives for all lessons, units, and projects.
• Assess the accomplishments of students on a regular basis and provide progress reports as required by policy and as requested by the building principal.
• Assist in the referral and diagnosis of students with learning difficulties, seeking assistance from district specialists as needed.
• Take necessary and reasonable measures to protect students, equipment, materials, and equipment.
• Maintain accurate and complete records as required by law and/or state guidelines.
• Adhere to and enforce all policies, rules, and regulations of the board of education as stated in the Board Policy Handbook.
• Carry out and observe all administrative rules and directives as set forth by the principal and superintendent.
• Observe established duty hours of the school day.
• Attend all building faculty meetings and curriculum meetings as scheduled.
• Strive to improve professional performance and competence.
• Employ best teaching practices in the classroom.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the administration and board of education.
• Teach the district's prescribed curriculum.
