Family-owned, rapidly growing Stuart business is seeking an Accounting Assistant to join the team!

Successful Candidate will oversee and manage financial data to ensure accuracy and compliance. Key responsibilities include:

• Recording Financial Transactions: Accurately record all income, expenses, and financial activities using QuickBooks Online and additional platform software
• Maintaining the General Ledger : Ensure the accuracy and integrity of the general ledger across multiple accounting platforms by reconciling accounts, identifying and resolving discrepancies, and utilizing journal entries with a strong understanding of debits and credits.
• Accounts Payable and Receivable : Track invoices, payments, and overdue accounts while maintaining strong vendor and client relationships.
• Bank Reconciliation: Reconcile bank statements with internal records to identify and resolve discrepancies.
• Regulatory & Business Compliance: Responsible for managing fictitious name registrations, hauling permits, commercial truck registrations, and business tax receipts, ensuring all required licenses, permits, and registrations remain accurate and up to date.
• Month-End Close: Work closely with the Accounting Manager to support and assist with month-end closing procedures
• Communication & Collaboration: Maintain effective communication with customers, vendors, and internal teams while providing regular updates to the Accounting Manager, Owner, Vice President, and Operations team regarding customer and vendor account status, outstanding issues, and resolutions. Ability to manage multiple accounts and projects simultaneously.
• Intercompany Accounting: Maintain accurate accounting for intercompany transactions by properly recording entries, reconciling intercompany balances, and ensuring transactions are accurately reflected across multiple entities

Candidate MUST have great communication and attention to detail and be able to work independently and make decisions. Must have incredible organizational skills and the ability to solve accounting discrepancies. The following are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required:

• High school diploma required.  Preference given to individuals with associate's in accounting.
• Must have minimum 3 years office experience
• QuickBooks Online experience required. 
• Month end closing experience
• Multitasking skills for managing multiple accounts and projects simultaneously.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including creating and using formulas.
• Must be excellent with computers and software programs.
• Strong customer service skills: values customers and communicate with them in a professional manner.
• Must pass the background check.

Monday - Friday, 9 am to 5 pm

$21 / hr. to start

Simple IRA employer match of (up to) 3% of W2 earnings after 6 month probationary period

7 paid holidays

PTO after 90 days of employment
