Advanced Gastroenterology Locum Opportunity in Colorado

Hospital is looking for Urgent Sept coverage with their Gastroenterology team. Site requires ERCP & EUS to be considered.

Schedule/Availability Requirements:

• All shifts end the following morning at 7a.
• Sept 6-10
• Jan 2027 ongoing dates will be presented once these dates have been filled.

Details:

• 24 hour call - 7a-7a
• Locums coverage is for 365 days a year.
• 7 day stints is preferred, not a requirement going into 2027 for all locums.
• Setting: Inpatient
• Level 1 Trauma
• Required Procedures/Job duties: Scoping, ERCP, EUS, Endoscopy, GI Bleed, Evaluation of GI problems.
• EMR: EPIC
• Support Staff: None
• Reason for coverage: Gaps in coverage.

Credentialing Information:

• Timeframe: 60-90 day standard, Emergency privs 1-2 weeks with clean file.
• Credentialing with other facilities? Yes
• Requirements: Self inquiry NPDB report must be provided and CO license or Active IMLC to release preapplication.
• Requirements: Preapp and full app must be submitted within right away for urgent dates needed to allow for AD account creation with EMR.

Additional Details / Questions Answered by Facility:

• Patient population: Adult, Geriatric, Adolescent
• Admissions, 8-10 new patients & follow ups. 5-8 scopes per day.
• 15 years old and 50 kilograms for a pediatric trauma. Otherwise, Pediatric patients are not admitted to the facility.
• GI does not admit they are just a consult service.
• 24/7 intensivists & hospitalists at site.
• 24/7 Trauma Services at site.

Submission Requirements

• Board Certified Gastroenterology - [REQUIRED]
• Active CO License - [HIGHLY PREFERRED]
• Active DEA - [REQUIRED] Required for credentialing (site will consider a transferred DEA, however, must keep this DEA for the duration of the assignment, not just for shifts worked.)
• Candidates must be available for any of the dates detailed in job description to be considered for ongoing dates - [REQUIRED]
• Candidates must detail the # of shifts per month ongoing they can offer to the site - [REQUIRED]
• Candidates must be able to perform ERCP & EUS to be considered and are required to note in presentation - [REQUIRED]
• Candidates must acknowledge they understand the requirement to stay at a preferred hotel from the preferred lodging in job description - [REQUIRED]
• Must acknowledge candidate understands the EMR training requirements set forth in job description and will complete in this order to avoid missing their start date - [REQUIRED]
• Local/drive-in candidates - [HIGHLY PREFERRED] , will place providers who are local as a Tier 1 provider.
• Gastroenterology Fellowship - [REQUIRED]
• Clean Malpractice/background - [HIGHLY PREFERRED] - Candidates with self inquiry NPDB report will be placed with priority over those that dont present with it
