As a Public Health LPN 2 or 3 within the Clay County Health Department at the Georgia Department of Public Health, you will join a dedicated group of public health professionals that help support the overall mission and vision of protecting lives of Georgian residents in a variety of ways.

Job Responsibilities

• Clinical and laboratory management to include ordering, collecting, recording, shipping, and managing labs.
• Monitor and records temperatures daily, accesses patient immunization record and GRITS, administers immunizations, and prints immunization records.
• Will manage inventory, collect, record and report patient's vital signs.
• Place and read Tuberculin Skin Tests (TST's), perform hearing, vision, and dental screenings.
• Provide Directly Observed Therapy (DOT) for appropriate TB patients.
• Will participate with health fairs and community outreach.

Minimum Qualifications

Public Health LPN 2 - (Hire-in salary - $35,387.99) Vocational/Technical degree in licensed practical nursing from an accredited college and two (2) years of LPN public health experience and current Georgia license to practice as a Licensed Practical Nurse and CPR certification; or one (1) year of experience required at the lower-level PH LPN 1 (HCT110) or position equivalent. Public Health LPN 3 - (Hire-in salary - $38,926.79) Vocational/Technical degree in licensed practical nursing from an accredited college and four (4) years of LPN public health experience and current Georgia license to practice as a Licensed Practical Nurse and CPR certification; or one (1) year of experience required at the lower-level PH LPN 2 (HCT111) or position equivalent. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: At least four (4) years of experience as a Licensed Practical Nurse. Public Health experience.

Additional Information

All West Central Health District 7 employees are deemed essential workers in the event of an emergency. As such, you may be called on to participate in an event including but not limited to: staffing a shelter, working at a Specimen Point of Collection Site (SPOC) and/or working at a Point of Dispensing site (POD). If you are called on to participate, you are required to report to the designated site as a condition of employment, whether the emergency occurs during or outside regular work hours.
