About the Role

The Company is seeking a Chief Development Officer (CDO) to serve as its chief revenue strategist and fundraiser. The CDO will work closely with the President and CEO to drive the planning, development, and management of all revenue programs, ensuring alignment with the organization's strategic priorities. This role is pivotal in expanding and diversifying the donor pipeline, securing major support, and elevating the company's visibility and impact. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading a nationwide integrated fundraising strategy, managing a team, and fostering a culture of equity, inclusion, and accountability. Key responsibilities include strategic leadership, board and volunteer engagement, team leadership, and financial, data, and technology management. Candidates for the CDO position at the company should have a proven track record in development and fundraising, with specific experience in corporate engagement, national events, and major gift development. The role requires a self-starter with strong leadership and management skills, capable of building and maintaining teams and programs. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, the ability to build strong relationships, and a genuine, professional, and caring approach to engagement. Experience in a similar position within a voluntary health organization, college or university, healthcare environment, or a related nonprofit is essential. The CDO will be expected to have a deep understanding of the mission and structure of the organization and to lead the implementation of best practice management techniques in development and fundraising.
