Cardiovascular Operating Room Technician

We are seeking a skilled and versatile Cardiovascular Operating Room Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience in handling open heart procedures and working in a general operating room (OR) environment. This position requires adaptability, as the technician will assist with various surgical specialties when not engaged in cardiovascular surgeries.

Unit Information

• Unit Type: Cardiovascular Operating Room (CVOR)
• Number of Suites: 11
• Average Number of Cases Per Day: 18

Qualifications

• Certification: Basic Life Support (BLS) required
• Experience with common surgical cases, including CABG, vascular surgeries, and lung procedures
• Ability to work in various OR specialties such as Orthopedics, General Surgery, ENT, and Urology when not in CVOR

Responsibilities

• Assist in cardiovascular procedures as part of the surgical team
• Support general, orthopedic, urological, and ENT surgeries as needed
• Adhere to all departmental policies, including nail regulations

Scheduling and Shift Information

• Shifts: 8-hour or 10-hour shifts beginning at 0700, Monday to Friday, with a consistent weekly schedule
• On-call Requirements: Approximately 10-15 days per month, including both weeknights and weekends
• Holiday Call: As needed

Orientation and Training

New hires will undergo one week of unit-specific orientation to familiarize themselves with departmental protocols and procedures.

Location

This position is located in the City, State area and may involve travel within a 50-mile radius for necessary responsibilities.

Additional Notes

Candidates must have a valid driver's license for employment considerations. All team members must comply with the organization's fingernail policy, which prohibits artificial nails in patient care areas.

Floating Requirements

Floating to other areas is not required; however, candidates should be prepared to assist in general OR duties as needed.
