Role Overview The Claims Consultant is responsible for accurate reporting and filing of claim notices to the respective carrier, handling claim scenarios, and resolving claim disputes. The role includes monitoring the claims inventory, answering customer service calls, and providing updates to customers and producers. Key Responsibilities Reports to the Claims Operations Manager and/or Team Lead on workflow issues and the handling of assigned claims inventory. Understands Claims Handling guidelines and workflows. Trains in Sagitta and ImageRight, including document uploads and task completion. Analyzes insurance policies for coverage eligibility. Reports claims to assigned carrier under appropriate lines of coverage. Communicates with clients by phone; returns voice messages. Email clients with timely responses. Email carriers for follow‑up and claim status. Processes incoming electronic and physical mail with appropriate filing and follow‑up. Serves as a liaison between clients, carriers, adjusters, vendors, and contractors. Communicates claim status with company producers. Takes ownership of assigned work processes and provides excellent customer service. Performs all other related duties as assigned. Experience and Education Bachelor's Degree or High School Diploma and at least two years of experience in the related field. Previous insurance experience. Education or applied work history. Licensing and Credentials None. Systems Proficient with Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook. Applied Epic experience preferred; knowledge of a similar Account Management System (AMS) is acceptable. Physical Requirements Ability to lift 25 pounds. Repeated use of sight to read documents and computer screens. Repeated use of hearing and speech to communicate on telephone and in person.
