Associate Director, Data Engineering and Analytics

Associate Director leading data engineering and analytics initiatives within Small Molecule Science & Technology at a research-intensive biopharmaceutical company. The role translates data priorities into scalable solutions that strengthen technical operations and improve business outcomes across the product lifecycle in a regulated, matrixed environment.
Responsibilities
- Lead execution of complex data engineering and analytics initiatives aligned to Small Molecule Science & Technology priorities
- Independently manage high-impact workstreams including milestones, dependencies, risks, and stakeholder alignment
- Design and enhance data pipelines, data flows, and curated datasets supporting analytics use cases
- Bridge technical and non-technical stakeholders to support alignment and drive cross-functional delivery of business outcomes
- Track progress, adoption, and value realization for assigned initiatives; escalate delivery risks and resource constraints
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Pharmaceutical Sciences, Data Science, Computer Science, or related discipline with 8 years experience (MS with 6)
- Significant experience in pharmaceutical manufacturing, technical operations, data engineering, or analytics in regulated environments
- Demonstrated ability to independently lead complex technical workstreams across matrixed organizations
- Strong understanding of manufacturing processes and unit operations in Drug Substance, Drug Product, Packaging, or Analytical Sciences
- Experience designing data pipelines, analytical products, dashboards, or scalable analytics solutions
- Ability to translate between technical and business stakeholders and influence without direct authority
- Experience with manufacturing data platforms such as DataLynx, SEEQ, MPI, MES, or historians (preferred)
