Orthopedic Surgeon - Trauma, Per Diem

Employment Details FTE: .01 Shift: Variable Schedule: Variable Position Summary The Trauma Orthopedic Surgeon plays a critical role in the emergency and long‑term care of patients with complex musculoskeletal injuries. Working as part of a multidisciplinary team—comprising emergency physicians, trauma surgeons, anesthesiologists, and rehabilitation specialists—the surgeon provides rapid assessment, surgical intervention, and recovery planning for traumatic orthopedic injuries. The role specializes in managing severe fractures, joint dislocations, soft tissue injuries, and other musculoskeletal trauma resulting from accidents, falls, or high‑impact events. The surgeon performs advanced procedures such as fracture fixation, limb reconstruction, and soft tissue repair while guiding post‑surgical rehabilitation to restore function and mobility. Collaboration with emergency and critical care teams stabilizes patients and develops individualized recovery strategies. Responsibilities Evaluate and diagnose patients with musculoskeletal disorders and injuries. Perform surgical procedures, including joint replacements, fracture repairs, and soft‑tissue reconstructions. Educate patients about surgical and non‑surgical treatment options. Maintain accurate patient records and adhere to hospital policies and industry regulations. Participate in on‑call rotations with the provider group. Requirements Medical degree (M.D. or D.O.) from an accredited institution. Board certified or eligible at time of employment. Licensed in the state of WA by the time of employment. DEA, NPI & prescriptive authority. Current BLS for Healthcare Providers certification by the American Heart Association. Orthopedic Trauma Fellowship or substantial experience in complex trauma surgery.
