Mixer Operator / Mixer (1st Shift)

This hands-on manufacturing role focuses on producing adhesive products by accurately following batch tickets and recipe instructions. You will work with powders, chemicals, and raw materials to mix and monitor glue batches, handle materials throughout the facility, and maintain detailed production documentation using SAP and internal systems. The position is on 1st shift with overtime available as needed and requires comfort in a physically demanding industrial environment. We are looking for individuals to start as soon as possible after interviewing. We offer weekly pay with overtime paying time and a half.

Responsibilities

• Manufacture adhesive products by following detailed batch tickets, recipes, and work instructions.
• Weigh and add raw materials according to specified formulas, measurements, and production requirements.
• Mix and monitor glue batches, with individual batches typically taking 3.54 hours to complete.
• Unload tanker deliveries and transfer raw materials to appropriate production areas.
• Move totes, chemicals, and other materials throughout the facility using stand-up or sit-down forklifts and tow motors.
• Complete inventory transactions and batch documentation using SAP and internal tracking systems.
• Wear required personal protective equipment (PPE), including respirators, Tyvek suits, gloves, and other safety gear when needed.
• Lift and handle materials weighing up to 55 pounds on a regular basis.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area while working safely with powders, chemicals, and raw materials.
• Follow all safety, quality, and production procedures to ensure consistent and reliable batch manufacturing.

Essential Skills

• 12 years of manufacturing experience in batch making, chemical processing, mixing, food production, or similar production environments.
• Ability to read and follow batch tickets, work instructions, and production documentation accurately.
• Basic math skills, including weighing ingredients and performing accurate addition, subtraction, and measurement of materials.
• Ability to lift up to 55 pounds and perform physically demanding tasks in an industrial manufacturing setting.
• Comfort working with powders, chemicals, and raw materials in a non-clean-room production environment.
• Attention to detail and strong focus on safety and quality standards.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Forklift and tow motor experience is a plus, including operating stand-up or sit-down equipment.
• Experience in adhesive, paint, or chemical manufacturing environments is beneficial.
• Familiarity with SAP or other manufacturing inventory and tracking systems is an advantage.
• Ability to work overtime as needed to support production demands.
• Strong communication skills to coordinate with team members and follow instructions clearly.

Work Environment

This is a 1st shift role, working from 6:00 AM to 2:30 PM, with overtime available as needed based on production requirements. The position is fully onsite in an industrial manufacturing facility and involves hands-on work producing adhesive batches. You will work with powders, chemicals, and various raw materials in a setting that can be messy, dusty at times, and warm depending on the production area and products being manufactured. This is not a clean-room environment, and the role is physically demanding, requiring regular lifting, moving materials, and extended periods of standing and walking. Employees wear appropriate PPE such as respirators, Tyvek suits, gloves, and other safety equipment when required. Those with experience in paint manufacturing often find this environment cleaner and less odorous than typical paint mixing operations.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Chagrin Falls, OH.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $25.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
