Position Summary

Mark Edwards Apparel is looking for a highly organized, proactive, and hands-on Showroom Assistant to join our New York team.

This role is essential to keeping our showroom and office running smoothly. You will take an active role in organizing merchandise, preparing collections for buyer appointments, maintaining showroom presentation, and supporting our sales and merchandising teams.

The ideal candidate is dependable, detail-oriented, and comfortable balancing physical showroom responsibilities with administrative tasks. We're looking for someone who takes initiative, enjoys staying organized, and is always ready to support the team.

Key Responsibilities

Showroom Operations & Sample Management

• Maintain the daily organization, cleanliness, and overall presentation of the showroom.
• Unpack, pack, hang, sort, and organize garment samples for buyer appointments, market meetings, and travel.
• Prepare and merchandise clothing racks and collections to ensure the showroom is consistently presentation-ready.
• Assist with showroom setups, breakdowns, and seasonal collection changes.
• Maintain organized sample racks, closets, and storage areas across multiple brands.
• Track incoming and outgoing samples, coordinating shipments, deliveries, and returns.
• Provide hands-on support wherever needed to keep showroom operations running efficiently.

Office Management & Organization

• Monitor and manage office and showroom supplies, including inventory, ordering, and restocking.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and well-stocked office and showroom environment.
• Proactively identify operational needs and help improve day-to-day organization.
• Assist with general office coordination, administrative tasks, and daily operational requests.

Sales & Administrative Support

• Assist sales and merchandising teams in preparing for buyer meetings, market appointments, and collection presentations.
• Organize samples, line sheets, selling materials, and presentation decks.
• Coordinate sample requests and follow-ups with internal teams and retail partners.
• Provide administrative support and assist with special projects as needed.
• Collaborate with team members to ensure appointments and showroom activities run smoothly.

Qualifications

• Strong interest in fashion, apparel, and the wholesale industry.
• Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and reliability.
• A proactive, positive attitude and willingness to take on both physical and administrative responsibilities.
• Comfortable being on your feet, moving merchandise, and handling garment samples throughout the day.
• Ability to multitask, prioritize assignments, and adapt to changing needs in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
• Previous experience in a showroom, retail, merchandising, or fashion environment is an asset, but not required.
