Job Description\n American Traveler is seeking a travel nurse RN Labor and Delivery for a travel nursing job in Seattle, Washington.Job Description & Requirements\n \n Specialty: Labor and Delivery\n Discipline: RN\n Start Date: 10/12/2026\n Duration: 18 weeks\n 36 hours per week\n Shift: 12 hours, nights\n Employment Type: Travel\n \n Assignment Overview\n \n Shift: Nights, 3x12hrs\n Hours: 36 hrs/wk\n Start Date: Oct 12, 2026\n Length: 18 weeks\n Openings: 1\n Description\n American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Labor & Delivery position at a Magnet-designated teaching hospital, requiring a minimum of 3 years of L&D experience.Details\n \n Labor & Delivery unit within a hospital setting caring for adult women of childbearing age\n Unit includes 7 labor beds, 3 triage beds, 2 PACU beds, and 16 mother-baby beds\n 1:1 patient ratio\n Night shift schedule, 3x12 hours, 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM\n Weekend rotation required unless posted schedule states otherwise\n Floating within the hospital required; no floating to sister hospitals\n EPIC charting system experience required\n Requirements\n \n Active WA RN license or compact license required\n Minimum 3 years of Labor & Delivery experience required (hard requirement)\n BLS and NRP certifications required\n AWHONN Intermediate certification preferred\n Required EPIC charting system experience\n Skilled in labor and delivery management including high-risk and vaginal deliveries, C-section circulation, and vacuum/forceps extraction\n Experience with fetal monitoring (external and internal), IUPC placement, and recognition of abnormal fetal heart rate patterns\n Experience managing high-risk conditions such as pre-eclampsia, placenta previa, HELLP syndrome, and VBAC\n Proficient in medication administration including Pitocin, Magnesium Sulfate, and antihypertensives\n Skilled in newborn care including APGAR scoring, neonatal resuscitation, and thermoregulation\n COVID vaccination and booster required with no exceptions\n Additional Information\n \n Provide comprehensive care across labor, delivery, postpartum, and newborn stages\n Support patients through antepartum, intrapartum, and postpartum care including high-risk pregnancy management\n Assist with pain management including epidural, general anesthesia, and PCA usage\n First-time travelers accepted only if they have 3+ years of L&D experience\n RTO limited to 1 week maximum, and holidays must be worked\n RTO cannot be requested during the first 2 weeks of the assignment\n Local candidates accepted at the same rate as travelers\n Prior UW Medical Center staff must have an 18-month separation before returning as a traveler\n Facility is a Magnet-designated teaching hospital with Level 4 trauma status\n \n \n American Traveler Job ID #P-753386.
