Job Overview

The Field Project Manager exists to solve a critical bottleneck: right now, ownership is personally managing every active project in the Austin market, which pulls focus away from sales and growth. This role takes that entirely off their plate.

You'll manage multiple residential integration projects at once, from pre-wire through final client handoff, leading and mentoring technicians and installers while staying accountable for quality, budget, and timeline on every job. You'll be the primary point of contact in the field for homeowners, builders, architects, designers, and trade partners, and you'll be expected to spot potential issues early and solve them before they become the client's problem. This is a hands-on, in-the-field role: the right person still has their tools in the car and is ready to jump in when an extra set of hands is needed, not someone looking to sit behind a desk full time.

You'll participate in a weekly leadership stand-up alongside ownership and the rest of the operations team to align priorities, report status, and flag what you need, then go execute with a clear directive for the week.

Responsibilities

• Manage multiple residential integration projects at once, from pre-wire through final client handoff
• Lead and mentor technicians and installers while maintaining accountability for project quality
• Ensure projects stay on time, within budget, and meet company quality standards
• Serve as the primary field point of contact for homeowners, builders, architects, designers, and trade partners
• Identify potential issues early and proactively implement solutions before they impact delivery
• Maintain white-glove presentation standards on every job site
• Oversee project documentation, scheduling, change orders, and workflow management using project management software
• Coordinate with other trades across all phases of construction
• Assist with programming adjustments, commissioning, troubleshooting, and final system verification as needed
• Help enforce and develop field standard operating procedures
• Participate in a weekly team stand-up to align on priorities and report project status

Qualifications

• Experience managing luxury residential smart home projects
• Understanding of residential construction phases, from rough-in through final trim and commissioning
• Experience with one or more major home automation platforms
• Working knowledge of AV networking, lighting control, shading, surveillance, and other integrated systems
• Experience with D-Tools or comparable project management software
• Takes ownership and leads from the front: proactive, organized, highly detailed, and communicates exceptionally well with clients and internal teams
• Holds themselves accountable, anticipates problems before they happen, takes pride in their work, and wants to build a team rather than simply manage one

Compensation

$85,000 to $105,000 annually, depending on experience, plus a project-based bonus.
