An exciting contract opportunity is available for a skilled Occupational Therapist eager to contribute to student success in an educational setting near Pelham, Alabama. This assignment runs from ASAP through June 10, providing valuable support within four schools.
The role encompasses a caseload of approximately 50-60 students, with services delivered individually, in small groups, and through push-in sessions. Therapy frequency and duration vary based on individualized education plans, with sessions generally set for 30 minutes, once weekly, biweekly, or monthly. Working hours are from 7:45 am to 3:45 pm, offering a consistent daytime schedule.
Qualifications:
- Active and current Alabama Occupational Therapy certification or license (proof required)
- Experience providing OT services in a school or pediatric setting, or strong interest in school-based therapy
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Ability to develop, implement, and document therapy in alignment with IEP goals
- Commitment to working fully onsite (remote options are not available for this role)
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct and document assessments of students’ functional and educational needs
- Develop targeted therapy interventions, collaborating with teachers and support staff
- Deliver OT services individually and in group formats
- Participate in IEP meetings and contribute to educational planning
- Adapt activities and strategies for student engagement and progress
