Responsibilities As a Physical Therapist, you help patients get well by assessing their needs, developing recovery plans, and delivering physical therapy. You are a healer and a helper who addresses the whole patient and treats them as an individual. Your goal is to design a program that restores, reinforces, and enhances their physical abilities. You adapt to each patient’s needs, find joy in the variety of settings, and collaborate with peers while making referrals to further their care. You are also a teacher, training patients and caregivers on the skills needed to promote independence and productivity. Qualifications Must have a valid Physical Therapy license in the state(s) of practice, or proof of license and eligibility. Must have a Master’s degree in Physical Therapy. Or have a Master’s degree in a Physical Therapy related field in addition to a Bachelor’s degree in Physical Therapy. Or have a Bachelor’s degree in Physical Therapy plus 5 years of progressively responsible PT experience. If the qualifying PT degree was earned outside the U.S., it must be evaluated as the U.S. equivalent to a PT degree.
