UC San Diego Health has held its Magnet status since 2011. Responsibilities Coordinate medication refills, review results and advise patients. Assess patients and plan diagnoses. Triage patient calls. Coordinate procedures. Manage case coordination. Obtain medication prior authorizations. Provide insurance justifications. Educate patients. The nurse coordinator will also work alongside the senior adult congenital nurse coordinator, nurse practitioner, and administrative staff. Autonomous nursing care is expected, practicing in accordance with ANA Standards of Practice and Professional Performance. Independent judgment must be exercised within interdisciplinary and multidisciplinary approaches to patient care. While not required, a cover letter is highly recommended when applying to this position. Minimum Qualifications Graduated from an accredited school of Nursing. RN license issued by the State of California. BLS/CPR and ACLS certification at time of hire with commitment to obtain ART within six (6) months. Minimum of five (5) years of active RN nursing experience. Minimum of two (2) years of recent (within the last five years) outpatient clinic experience. Minimum of two (2) years of recent (within the last five years) cardiology experience. Minimum of one (1) year of experience with triage and in-basket management. Proven knowledge of Congenital Heart Disease. Ability to navigate multiple competing priorities with strong analytical and critical thinking skills. Preferred Qualifications BSN. Previous experience working with Congenital Heart Disease patients. Case management experience. EPIC knowledge. Special Conditions Must be able to work various hours, days, shifts, on‑call and various locations based on business needs. Employment is subject to a criminal background check and pre‑employment physical. Pay Transparency Annual Full Pay Range: $138,330 – $193,892 (prorated if the appointment percentage is less than 100%). Hourly Equivalent: $66.25 – $92.86. Compensation is determined by experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure, certifications, and other organizational needs. The Hiring Pay Scale referenced in the job posting represents the budgeted salary or hourly range that the University expects to pay for this role.
