Under the supervision of the Chief Medical Officer, this position functions in a team and mission-based setting to provide general internal medicine to adults. This includes providing accurate diagnosis, effective treatments, and prevention of diseases.\n

\n Job Duties/Responsibilities:
\n
\n

\n

• Obtains and records patient’s health history; performs comprehensive physical assessment (including biological, social, and psychological needs) as part of a total physical examination.
\n
• Demonstrate substantial knowledge of interviewing and counseling techniques.
\n
• Diagnoses, treats, and plans appropriate health care for patients in the area of adult primary and specialty health care as appropriate for specialty; refers patients to other physicians and outside agencies.
\n
• Demonstrate skillful knowledge of medical techniques and procedures.
\n
• Provides and prescribes medications within area of specialty.
\n
• Performs laboratory procedures and interprets lab test results.
\n
• Provides group, individual and community education classes on health concerns for an adult population.
\n
• Establishes and maintains client medical charts and other necessary records.
\n
• Provides in-service education classes on assigned responsibilities for clinical staff.
\n
• Demonstrate skill in diagnostic procedures for diseases and the drug therapy needed for treatment. 
\n
• Proficient in the use of medical and laboratory equipment.
\n
• Participate in the Clinical Quality Improvement and Quality Management meetings and other meetings as requested by supervisor and/or Senior Leadership Team.
\n
• Participates in ongoing practice evaluation reviews of other clinicians (Peer Review).
\n
• Demonstrate ability to work independently, communicate effectively both verbally and in writing, deal tactfully and patiently with patients and families, maintain effective working relationships with other related agencies, professionals, and citizen groups.
\n
• Promote individual and organizational integrity by exhibiting ethical behavior to maintain high standards
\n
• Maintain professional affiliations and enhance professional development to remain abreast with professional literature and current health care management trends and rules in FQCH regulation.

\n Education, Experience and Qualifications:
\n
\n

\n
• 3 years’ experience preferred.
\n
• Unrestricted License in State of Oregon
\n
• Current DEA Certificate without restrictions
\n
• Language Skills: Able to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing; additional languages preferred.
\n
• Ability to be credentialed with Medicaid, Medicare, private and other insurance.
\n
• Demonstrated commitment to high quality health care for low income, ethnically diverse populations.
\n

\n LICENSURES/CERTIFICATIONS REQUIREMENT:
\n
\n

\n
• Licensed Physician; Board Certified or Eligible in Internal Medicine; Fully Credentialed, and Insurable.
\n
• Current American Heart Association (AHA) Provider Basic Life Support Card (BLS) certification required within 2 months of hire. Maintenance of BLS certification required.  Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification preferred.
\n
• Non-violent Crisis Intervention Comprehensive training class completed within 6 months of hire and recertify prior to the expiration date.
