About the Position

Job Description: The registered nurse provides individualized nursing care based on knowledge of basic competencies in the fundamentals of peri-anesthesia nursing and pharmacology using the nursing process applied to geriatric, adult, and adolescent patients from admission through discharge. This position requires knowledge of peri-anesthesia standards of care, airway management, nursing assessment parameters, and pharmacology, including doses, purpose, interactions, side effects, and reactions to medications. Requirements: - BLS (AHA) - CA RN Licensure - ACLS - PALS - 2 years PACU RN Experience Required, preferably in a high acute care hospital, ICU required - Cath Lab experience preferred Shift: 4 x 10 days 10A-11A start times; no weekends. *float required to other CPMC campuses if needed and census permits* Additional Role Expectations: Provide close monitoring and timely interventions for critically ill patients, recognizing and escalating changes in condition. Work collaboratively with the interdisciplinary team and follow applicable unit protocols. Candidates should be prepared to collaborate with the interdisciplinary team, maintain professional communication, and follow all applicable patient-safety, infection-prevention, and documentation standards.
