ResponsibilitiesAssist in the monthly/quarterly external and internal reporting processes which include:Preparation of monthly and quarterly financial statementsPreparation of quarterly 10-Q and annual 10-K filings, including creating footnote disclosures and aggregating dataPreparation of quarterly and annual financial statements for the newly-formed joint venturePreparation of reporting requirements from the joint venture partner for the managed long-term lease portfolioWorking closely with all business segments, tax, treasury, FP&A, investor relations, legal, and other departments to collect footnote materialsPreparation of schedules to be included in the quarterly earnings release and schedules to support preparation for the earnings callPreparation of the quarterly presentation to the company’s board of directors, including coordination with the FP&A team on budget numbersMonthly and quarterly analysis of financial statements for internal/external useWork with external auditors, provide required support and address questions and follow ups timelyImprove our reporting process in our external reporting systemUpdate and improve disclosure and reporting documentation for increased efficiencyAssist in the monthly/quarterly accounting close for the Rail International Segment which includes:Partner with the accounting departments at our foreign locations to form a collaborative, communicative relationshipAct as a liaison between the Chicago accounting team and the accounting departments at our foreign locations to ensure a full understanding of foreign operations and their implications on our consolidated accounting activitiesMonitor activity at the Rail International holding entities, work with Tax and other departments to prepare and record journal entries at these entitiesEnsure monthly activities are recorded in accordance with company accounting policies and prepare relevant journal entriesPrepare the monthly and quarterly reporting package including income statement and balance sheet variance analysis, key performance metrics, and statement of cash flowsPrepare monthly balance sheet reconciliationsPrepare the Rail International segment schedules to assist in the required disclosures for the 10-K, 10-Q and other reporting needsPrepare financial statements for U.S. and international subsidiaries, US pension plans, governmental surveys, and other regulatory filings to be submitted to various agencies, work with external auditors and provide required support and documentationCoordinate with accounting and technical accounting departments to research and implement new accounting standards and related reporting and disclosure requirements
