Teacher – Plumbing & Electric Job ID: 19593 Position Details Position Type: High School Teaching / Industrial‑Technology Education Location: Plainfield High School – Central Campus Date Available: August 2026 Salary: Determined by the Board in accordance with the APT Negotiated Agreement Previous experience credit: up to 4 years of verified relevant experience FTE 1.0 (Full‑time) 9‑Month Position Responsibilities Plan and instruct students on District and Illinois State Standards‑aligned curriculum. Communicate verbally and in writing with parents and students about progress. Enter student grade information into appropriate computer databases in a timely manner. Develop lesson plans and goals that meet District expectations. Conduct and interpret formal and informal assessments to evaluate student progress, maintain records, and develop intervention strategies. Meet regularly with support teachers, paraprofessionals, and specialists to discuss modifications, adaptations, and interventions. Set clear expectations for class, manage the classroom and school environment applying positive behavior supports and interventions. Establish a safe atmosphere conducive to a positive learning environment; act as role model encouraging appropriate behaviours. Participate in staff development and school improvement activities to maintain professional growth; plan and incorporate best practices. Participate in events outside the regularly scheduled work day such as orientation, open houses, conferences, and extracurricular activities. Coaching a sport or sponsoring activities outside the regular work day is acceptable. Perform other related duties as assigned. Qualifications Valid State of Illinois Professional Educator License with appropriate endorsements, registered in Will County / Region 56. Certificate of good health signed by a licensed medical provider.
