Job Description\n American Traveler is seeking a travel nurse RN MICU - Medical Intensive Care Unit for a travel nursing job in Rochester, New York.Job Description & Requirements\n \n Specialty: MICU - Medical Intensive Care Unit\n Discipline: RN\n Start Date: 10/06/2026\n Duration: 13 weeks\n 48 hours per week\n Shift: 12 hours, nights\n Employment Type: Travel\n \n Assignment Overview\n \n Shift: Nights, 4x12hrs\n Hours: 48 hrs/wk\n Start Date: Oct 6, 2026\n Length: 13 weeks\n Openings: 1\n Description\n American Traveler is hiring a Night shift MICU RN requiring NY licensure, EPIC experience, and 2 years of critical care experience.Details\n \n 16-bed Medical ICU treating sepsis, ARDS, renal failure, heart failure, pre-VAD workups, alcohol withdrawal, overdose, multi-organ failure, post cardiac arrest/TTM, respiratory failure/shock, CRRT, EKOS, IABP, ECMO, and Impella patients\n Patient ratio of 1:2 with occasional 1:1 based on acuity\n Night shift, 4x12 hours, 7:00 PM-7:30 AM\n Every other weekend required\n Floating required\n EPIC charting experience required\n Requirements\n \n Active NY RN license required in hand\n BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required\n Minimum 2 years of MICU experience required\n Teaching hospital experience preferred\n EPIC charting experience required\n Proficiency in cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation/management, and multisystem organ dysfunction care\n Skilled in arterial line, central line, and blood product administration\n Experience with ventilator management, BiPAP/CPAP, ABG interpretation, and airway suctioning\n Experience with CRRT/CVVHD and renal failure management\n Knowledge of massive transfusion protocol and abdominal compartment syndrome monitoring preferred\n Experience with CVP monitoring and nurse-driven ECMO protocols preferred\n Stroke management and hypothermia protocol/Arctic Sun experience preferred\n IV insulin protocol experience\n Additional Information\n \n Provide comprehensive critical care to complex multisystem ICU patients\n Manage continuous IV sedation, vasoactive drips, and neuromuscular blockade\n Perform procedural sedation monitoring and emergency medication administration\n Candidates must reside more than 75 miles from the facility\n First-time travelers welcome to apply\n Returning staff must wait 6 months system-wide before reapplying\n Cannot exceed 10 days of requested RTO\n Call-off policy allows up to 3 shifts per 13-week assignment\n \n \n American Traveler Job ID #P-750158.
