Pediatric Gastroenterologist Physician in Tampa, FL

BayCare Medical Group is a physician-led medical group is seeking a board-certified or board-eligible Pediatric Gastroenterologist to join our multidisciplinary team at St. Joseph's Hospital in Tampa, Florida . The ideal candidate will manage complex GI, hepatobiliary, and nutritional disorders in children-from infancy through adolescence-across inpatient, outpatient, and procedural settings

The details of the position include:

• Diagnose and treat a wide range of pediatric GI conditions, including IBS, IBD, celiac disease, reflux, hepatology, nutritional disorders, and motility issues.
• Perform and interpret diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopic procedures: upper/lower GI endoscopy, polypectomy, foreign body removal, liver biopsies, G-tube placements, motility studies.
• Provide comprehensive inpatient consultation and manage ambulatory clinics in both main and satellite locations.
• Collaborate with dietitians, surgeons, psychologists, hepatologists, primary care providers, and allied health professionals.
• Engage in education-mentoring pediatric residents.
• Provide on-call coverage 1:3 for emergencies, including foreign body ingestion, GI bleeding, and liver crises.
• Maintain accurate patient records and comply with documentation, billing, and regulatory standards.

Position requires:

• Board Certification or Eligibility by the ABIM in Gastroenterology.
• MD or DO with completion of an accredited Pediatric Gastroenterology fellowship.
• Board-certified or board-eligible in Pediatric Gastroenterology and Pediatrics.
• Eligible for/holds an active Florida medical license.
• Proficient in pediatric endoscopy and procedural care.
• Experience with IBD, hepatology, nutritional rehab/motility preferred.
