CDL Test ExaminerThe CDL Test Examiner is responsible for overseeing and ensuring the integrity of the licensing test for prospective CDL holders, in accordance with state and federal regulations.We are the Driving Academy, we provide affordable, state-approved classroom and behind-the-wheel lessons for aspiring truck (aka commercial driver's license [CDL]) drivers, and we are growing by the day. Our core value of having Integrity is the backbone of our business and guides our hiring process.Performance ObjectivesAdminister all components of CDL Licensing testing process in accordance with state and federal regulations, including pre-trip inspection, parking maneuvers, and road-driving skills.Verify accuracy and completeness to assess students ability to perform to standards testedRecord and upload test results into national testing database to ensure students are eligible to receive their CDLPrepare work facility for daily operations and/or close of businessInspect vehicles to ensure roadworthiness and safety as per company policiesOperate CDL Vehicles along scheduled routes (i.e. tractor trailers, busses, bobtail trucks, etc.)Attend training programs as required by state and federal regulations or proceduresConfer with Test coordinator and Lead Examiner to exchange information or to resolve problemsMeet with individuals involved in legal processes to provide information and clarify issuesDirect student activities during examination and provide technical guidance as necessaryOther related duties as assignedKey CompetenciesExcellent written and oral communication skills.Ability to understand written sentences and paragraphs in work-related documentsExcellent conflict management and customer service skillsAbility to notice details and be thorough in completing work tasksKnowledge of matters relating to truck and vehicle safetyEducation and ExperienceHigh school diploma or equivalent requiredValid Commercial Drivers License (CDL) Class A and a clean driving record requiredAt least three years of CDL driving experience (Required)At least one year of CDL training or testing (Preferred)Physical RequirementsAbility to spend prolonged periods of time standing, speaking, walking, driving, writing, and/or sitting at a desk and working on a computerMust be able to climb into and out of a truck safelyAbility to notice details at close and far rangesMust be able to lift at least 15 pounds at a timePerform work with OSHA required PPEReasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential requirementsBenefitsHealth Insurance SubsidyPaid HolidaysPaid Vacation DaysPaid Sick Days401K with matchingEmployee DiscountProfessional Training & Development OpportunitiesCommitment to DiversityAs an equal opportunity employer committed to meeting the needs of a multigenerational and multicultural workforce, Driving Academy recognizes that a diverse staff, reflective of our community, is an integral and welcome part of a successful and ethical business.
