Program Lead II, Clinical Program Development (Director Level)

AbbVie seeks a Program Lead II in Clinical Program Development to oversee clinical research program execution, connecting scientific strategy with operational delivery. The role involves managing clinical study portfolios up to $200M, leading cross-functional teams, and developing clinical operations staff in a director-level position.
Responsibilities
- Develop and execute clinical operational strategy aligned with asset development goals and scientific objectives
- Evaluate programmatic risks and identify strategic mitigation options for asset strategy teams
- Manage external budgets across clinical development portfolios and develop resource projections
- Lead direct and indirect clinical operations staff, mentoring 4-15 study managers and up to 30 indirect staff
- Drive cross-functional innovation initiatives and ensure quality compliance with ICH/GCP standards
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in nursing or scientific field; Associate's degree with R.N. acceptable
- 12+ years pharmaceutical or clinical research experience
- 10+ years clinical research with demonstrated leadership managing multiple global studies
- Expertise in risk management, strategic decision-making, and program execution
- Strong communication and remote people management capabilities
- Subject matter expertise in ICH, global regulations, ethics, and compliance standards
- Experience across study phases from initiation through completion and data analysis
