Your Role as a Mortgage Processing Assistant

As a Mortgage Processing Assistant, you will work closely with our processors and loan officers to help keep mortgage files organized, complete, and moving forward.You'll primarily support the front end of the loan process, helping collect documentation, communicate with borrowers, organize files, and complete administrative processing tasks for both traditional and reverse mortgage transactions.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist with setting up new mortgage loan files and organizing borrower documentation.
• Request and collect required documents from borrowers, including income, asset, identification, insurance, and other supporting documentation.
• Review incoming documentation for basic completeness and identify missing items for processor follow-up.
• Upload, label, organize, and maintain documents within loan files and company systems.
• Assist processors with preparing and sending routine loan documents and disclosures.
• Communicate with borrowers by phone and email regarding outstanding documentation and general loan-process updates.
• Provide administrative support to loan processors and loan officers throughout the loan process.
• Assist with ordering or tracking third-party items and documentation as directed by the processing team.
• Help maintain loan checklists and track outstanding items and deadlines.
• Support traditional and reverse mortgage files, including HECM transactions.
• Maintain confidentiality of borrower information and follow company procedures and regulatory requirements.
• Perform additional processing and administrative duties as assigned.

What We're Looking For

• Previous mortgage, banking, financial services, administrative, or customer service experience required.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Comfortable communicating professionally with clients by phone and email.
• Ability to learn new software, processes, and terminology.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and follow up on outstanding items.
• Reliable, professional, and comfortable working in a fast-paced office environment.
• Interest in learning mortgage processing and developing within the industry.
