Medical Staff Credentialing Coordinator
Mad River Community Hospital seeks an experienced Medical Staff Credentialing Coordinator to perform all duties of the Medical Staff Office. These include: processing physician and advanced practice provider applications and reappointments from start to finish; providing medical staff committee support, including creating and distributing meeting agendas and taking meeting minutes; ensuring thorough and timely verification of physicians' and other providers' credentials according to policies, procedures, By-Laws and accreditation standards; and ensuring the update of expirable documents and the maintenance of the MDStaff database.
Required Skills
- Successful background working with peers, patients, multidisciplinary team members, executives, assigned staff, and representatives of regulatory agencies.
- Excellent verbal and written communication and human relations skills
- Demonstrated attention to detail.
- Strong organization & communication skills.
- Tact, diplomacy, and the ability to work with individuals in all levels of the hospital and medical staff.
- Independent problem solving and decision-making abilities.
- Ability to maintain focus and meet deadlines in a busy environment Required Qualifications:
- A minimum of 2 years' experience in a medical office or hospital setting; Medical Staff Office credentialing experience preferred.
- CPCS (Certified Professional Credentialing Specialist), or CPMSM (Certified Professional Medical Staff Management) certification via NAMSS (National Association of Medical Staff Services), or the ability to obtain certification within one year of hire.
- Experience with regulatory compliance/accreditation processes.
- Experience using a medical staff office database, preferably MDStaff. To Apply:
