Maintenance Technician II

OnTrac is hiring a Maintenance Technician 2 – Conveyor Systems . Location 5959 Randolph St, Commerce, CA 90040. This position is performed onsite at one of the company’s operational facilities, unless otherwise specified in the job posting. Compensation Hourly pay range: $37.15 - $55.73 per hour. Actual compensation will be determined based on experience, skills, internal equity, geographic location, and other job‑related factors. The position may also be eligible for shifting differentials, overtime pay, or other forms of additional compensation in accordance with applicable company policies and law. Employment Logistics The Maintenance Technician II supports the safe and reliable operation of equipment and facilities by performing advanced preventive maintenance, troubleshooting complex mechanical and electrical issues, and repairing conveyors and sortation equipment. This role also serves as the shift‑level technical lead, helping coordinate maintenance response, mentor technicians, and drive corrective actions that improve equipment reliability and reduce downtime. Requirements High school diploma or GED preferred. 1+ years related experience and/or training in mechanical and electrical equipment, or equivalent combination of both education and specific work experience. Welding experience is required. Current driver’s license and clean driving record. Work Environment / Physical Requirements You will regularly need to talk or listen. You will frequently need to stand, walk, sit, and use your hands to handle or feel. The physical activity associated with this position is considered high. You will regularly lift, push, pull and/or move items averaging 50 pounds and occasionally up to 75 pounds. You are occasionally required to stoop, kneel, or crouch. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, depth perception, and the ability to focus. Responsibilities Maintain and contribute to a safe work environment by adhering to policies and procedures as outlined in the Company Safety Program. Perform routine preventive maintenance, repairs, and inspections to fleet trailing equipment. Supervise multiple trailer maintenance technicians. Work with Safety department leadership to understand and ensure that all safety programs and procedures are followed. May be required to use a personal vehicle or company vehicle to conduct business for the company. Perform any other task or assignment as deemed necessary by the organization. Skills and Competencies Learn and follow all safety regulations and job instructions to perform primary duties effectively. Bring mechanical work experience that helps contribute quickly to maintenance, repair, and inspection work. Apply knowledge of OSHA requirements in daily work practices. Maintain a flexible schedule to support 24‑hour operations, including extended hours, weekends, and holidays when needed. Stay dependable and adaptable as business needs, staffing needs, and workload shifts. Posting Timeline This job posting will remain open for at least 30 days from the date of posting.
