Job Details Fusion Medical Staffing is seeking an experienced Operating Room Registered Nurse to join a 13‑week travel assignment in Winston‑Salem. You will provide perioperative care before, during, and after surgical procedures, supporting the surgical team and ensuring patient safety and infection control. Responsibilities Prepare operating rooms, ensuring instruments, equipment, and sterile supplies are ready. Assist in patient positioning and provide pre‑operative education and comfort. Maintain a sterile field and adhere to infection control protocols. Anticipate team needs, supplying instruments promptly to keep workflow efficient. Monitor patient status during surgery, documenting significant changes and notifying the surgeon. Handle instruments and manage specimen collection, labeling, and transport. Document all aspects of patient care accurately. Participate in handoff communication pre‑ and post‑operatively. Assist in cleaning and restocking between cases. Collaborate with the surgical team to comply with hospital policies and standards. Follow safety rules, PPE, and infection prevention measures. Perform additional duties as assigned within scope of practice. Qualifications Minimum one year recent experience as an Operating Room RN. Valid RN license in North Carolina. Current BLS certification (AHA/ARC). Preferred: ACLS or PALS certification, OR Nursing certification (CNOR), or other relevant specialty credentials. Essential Skills Critical thinking and excellent interpersonal communication. Proficiency in reading, writing, and oral communication in English. Basic PC skills. Physical ability to stand, move equipment (50‑100 lbs), and perform tasks in a sterile environment. Ability to work effectively with a multidisciplinary team.
