Profession: Nursing Specialty: Critical Care Float Duration: 13 Weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Must have a minimum of 3 years of critical care experience, including recent ICU experience within the last year. License: Current and active nursing license is required. Certifications: BCLS, ACLS required; TNCC preferred. Must-Have: Strong ICU experience. Proficiency in interpretation and management of dysrhythmias, with a test required. Academic or teaching facility experience. Required skills include ventilator management, IV start, telemetry, and conscious sedation. Preferred skills include ICP and PA line management. Description: This position requires the ability to float to all critical care units. The nurse is expected to work every other weekend. References must come from direct supervisors, not charge nurses. Holidays require working 2 of the 3 major holidays, with specific restrictions for Christmas time off. The clinician will work with patients requiring intensive care across various specialties including MICU, Burn ICU, Neuro ICU, and Trauma ICU. The need for strong trauma experience is emphasized, and well-rounded critical care experience is required. This role demands high standards of care and allows for exposure to a variety of critical cases. Nurses will manage complex medical conditions and treatment protocols. Proficient knowledge of patient care delivery, interventions, and the use of advanced equipment is necessary. Candidates must demonstrate adaptability to meet the diverse needs of critically ill patients.
