This is a **commission-based position** reporting to the Practice Manager and Medical Director.The ideal candidate is:* A team player who’s also self-motivated* Detail-oriented and reliable* A strong communicator with a passion for animals and client careMost importantly, you should have hands-on experience grooming or bathing **all breeds of dogs and cats** and be committed to delivering professional, safe, and compassionate grooming services.## **A Day in the Life**You’ll play a key role in keeping pets healthy, clean, and looking their best. Your day may include:* Grooming scheduled appointments, walk-ins, and boarding pets* Performing full grooms, baths, and touch-ups* Communicating with pet parents about needs and results* Documenting observations and recommending additional servicesYou’re not just grooming—you’re building relationships with both pets and their people.## **Key Responsibilities*** Deliver high-quality grooms that meet client expectations* Ensure a **safe, gentle, and positive experience** for every pet* Collaborate with medical and boarding teams* Consult with clients before and after services* Monitor pet health and report concerns* Maintain grooming tools and ensure equipment safety* Keep grooming and bathing areas clean and sanitized* Schedule appointments and assist with client onboarding* Resolve client concerns professionally and promptly## **What We’re Looking For*** Passion for animal care (dogs + cats)* Commitment to **safe, low-stress handling** (no forceful or aversive techniques)* Strong customer service and communication skills* Ability to multitask in a fast-paced, sometimes noisy environment* Team-oriented mindset with a positive attitude* Detail-oriented with basic computer skills* Physically able to handle dogs of all sizes (up to 60 lbs)* Reliable, punctual, and flexible with scheduling## **Qualifications*** 2–4 years of professional grooming experience preferred* Grooming certification preferred (not required)* Knowledge of breed standards and cuts* Skilled in proper scissoring techniques## **Compensation & Benefits*** Commission-based pay* Tips* Employee discounts## **Schedule*** Full-time* Monday–Friday* On-site## **Equal Opportunity Employer**AmeriVet is committed to creating a diverse and inclusive workplace.
