Pediatric Hematologist Oncologist
Phoenix Children's
Job Description
Job Description
The Hematology/Oncology Division at our organization is in search of a full-time, board-certified or board-eligible pediatric hematologist/oncologist. We welcome candidates with interests in areas such as benign hematology, immune deficiencies, white blood cell disorders, or bone marrow failure syndromes. Experience in research and program development is highly valued as we aim to enhance our offerings in these fields.
Key responsibilities encompass clinical care, educational roles, and involvement in clinical research. The selected candidate will play a vital and collaborative role within the Hematology/Oncology/BMT Division at our Center for Cancer and Blood Disorders, managing both inpatient and outpatient hematology cases.
Our Center serves as the primary referral hub in the Southwestern region, handling around 1,500 new hematology patients annually. We currently support a significant hematology patient base, including nearly 550 individuals with congenital bleeding disorders at our federally funded Hemophilia Treatment Center, over 325 patients with sickle cell disease or thalassemia, and approximately 150 new thrombosis patients each year. We operate multidisciplinary clinics focusing on hemophilia, congenital bleeding disorders, immunohematology, neurovascular diseases, sickle cell/thalassemia, and other patients requiring chronic transfusions due to various diagnoses, including bone marrow failure and RBC enzyme deficiencies. Our hematology team is dedicated to delivering top-tier care to the Southwest's patient population. Additionally, we have active clinical and laboratory research initiatives, along with multiple ongoing clinical trials. We are eager to find someone who is enthusiastic about expanding and developing our program further.
Qualified candidates must be board eligible or board certified in pediatric hematology-oncology and possess a strong interest in hematology. Applicants should demonstrate the ability to collaborate effectively with teams on patient-centered, division-focused, and hospital-wide projects.
