Loader Operator

The Loader Operator safely operates a 4-cubic-yard loader to move, load, unload, and compact materials across multiple construction projects. This role requires strong grade-reading abilities to cut footings accurately, effective material compaction techniques, and close coordination with water trucks and tractors while rotating between various job sites.

Responsibilities

• Operate a 4-cubic-yard loader to move, load, and unload construction materials in a safe and efficient manner.
• Read and check grade to cut footings accurately according to project specifications.
• Compact material using the loader, including utilizing loader tires for effective compaction.
• Unload material on designated locations or "x" marks and recompact as required.
• Monitor and verify grade throughout the work area to maintain correct elevations and slopes.
• Work closely alongside water trucks and tractors to support site preparation and compaction activities.
• Follow site plans, directions, and safety procedures while working across multiple projects.
• Perform basic equipment checks and report any issues to ensure the loader remains in safe operating condition.
• Adapt to changing tasks and project needs while bouncing between different job sites.
• Maintain a clean, organized work area and operate equipment in compliance with all safety guidelines.

Essential Skills

• Minimum of 2 years of experience operating a loader, with approximately 4,000 hours of operating time.
• Proficiency in operating heavy equipment, specifically loaders, in a construction environment.
• Ability to read and check grade accurately to cut footings to specification.
• Strong skills in compacting material using a loader, including tire-based compaction methods.
• Ability to load, unload on designated "x" locations, and recompact material effectively.
• Solid understanding of safe heavy equipment operating practices.
• Capability to work alongside water trucks and tractors in coordinated site operations.

Work Environment

This role is field-based, working on active construction projects located across the region, including areas from Boulder to Lone Tree, with current work in southeast Aurora and Erie. You primarily operate a 4-cubic-yard loader outdoors in varying weather conditions, alongside water trucks and tractors on busy job sites. The environment is fast-paced and requires consistent awareness of surroundings, adherence to safety protocols, and readiness to move between different project locations as schedules and needs change.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Denver, CO.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $40.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
