Registered Nurse - Stepdown Intermediate Care Unit

Job Description

The Stepdown Intermediate Care Unit is a 29-bed unit caring for adult patients across a wide range of ages and medical diagnoses. Patients typically have a higher acuity level than those on a medical-surgical unit and may require advanced stepdown interventions, including:

• Cardiac drips
• DKA management
• CIWA precautions
• Advanced respiratory support, including BiPAP and heated high-flow oxygen
• Enhanced sepsis interventions
• Complex wound management
• Total care for high acuity patients

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Lead with heart and expertise – Take charge in coordinating and delivering quality, compassionate patient care that makes a real difference in our patients' lives.
• Master the nursing process – Put your clinical skills to work! Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care with confidence. Delegate and supervise like a pro and document everything with precision while educating patients and families along the way.
• Be a communication champion – Keep the healthcare team in the loop by sharing pertinent patient and family information clearly and effectively. Great teamwork starts with great communication!
• Problem-solve with purpose – Jump into action when variances from patient goals pop up. Collaborate with your team to find creative solutions and drive their implementation forward. You're not just reacting—you're making things better!

SCHEDULE: (3) - 12 Hour Shifts, 7pm - 730am, every other weekend and rotating holidays. Full time benefit eligible.

SIGN ON BONUS: $7500.00

Qualifications

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

• BSN preferred.
• Graduation from an accredited school of nursing.
• Clinical knowledge and analytical abilities necessary to formulate effective nursing care plans.
• Ability to perform a wide variety of professional nursing services.
• Ability to effectively communicate with patients, families, and hospital personnel.

CERTIFICATION/LICENSURE REQUIRED:

• Current licensure by the Michigan State Board of Nursing.
• Health care provider certification (BCLS).
