Job Description

The Bartender position is responsible for managing drink orders to keep customers satisfied during meals or social gatherings. The Bartender will have extensive knowledge of common drinks, which they use to recommend drinks to customers, prepare cocktails, pour beers, and properly decant wines. Bartenders may also entertain customers who sit at the bar by providing excellent customer service while also filling drink orders for other guests.

Responsibilities

• Verify the guests' age.
• Mix traditional and creative cocktails.
• Make suggestions based on guest's tastes and preferences.
• Build a rapport with regular guests to foster a positive atmosphere.
• Process payments, record, and balance cash receipts, and prepare cash deposits.
• Open and maintain tabs throughout their shift.
• Keep a tidy workspace.
• Clean glasses and bar utensils.
• Ensure the stock of the bar and garnishes.

Skills / Experience

• Requires at least one year of closely related bartending experience in a high-volume casual dining environment.
• Must possess a valid Nevada Food Handlers Card.
• Must possess a valid Nevada TAM card.
• Demonstrates the ability to effectively interact with guests and fellow team members in a friendly, enthusiastic, and outgoing manner.
• Works well in a fast-paced environment.
• Knowledge of health, safety, and sanitation practices.
• Comprehension of the English language both written and oral.
• Must have cash handling experience and basic math skills.

Physical Requirements

• Work in an open-air environment and move throughout the restaurant.
• Work outdoors less than 25% of the time.
• Must possess the ability to lift, bend, and kneel.
• Must be able to stand or walk for an 8-hour shift.
• Ability to work in environments that can be smoky, noisy, hot, cold, or humid.
• Must be able to lift 40 pounds without assistance.
