Cardiothoracic Surgery Advanced Practice Provider

Overview Full‑time, day shift with on‑call requirement and rotating weekends. New‑grad NPs and PAs are welcome to apply, but previous cardiology experience is required. We are seeking a provider to join the Cardiothoracic Surgery (CTS) Advanced Practice Providers team. The candidate will work in close collaboration with cardiothoracic surgeons, pediatric cardiologists and bedside providers caring for patients ranging from premature neonates to adults. Patients are seen in a variety of inpatient settings—primarily the Cardiothoracic Intensive Care Unit and cardiology step‑down unit—as well as the Cardiology Clinic. A successful team‑oriented candidate will work with other full‑time APPs to see patients with rotating attendings in all venues of care. Cardiology experience required. Essential Functions Assesses patients and/or populations; develops, implements and evaluates plans of care; clearly documents and communicates information both in written and verbal forms. Performs diagnostic and therapeutic procedures according to established guidelines and standards as necessary for the care of the patient. Utilizes evidence based practice, serves as a clinical expert for policies, procedures, documentation, and skills. Assists in the education, training and development of new and existing staff members. Engages in the “community of the work unit” by staying aware of changes, participating in data collection or auditing, and engaging in Quality Improvement. Leverages technology and informatics to optimize healthcare outcomes. Commits to continued professional development of self and others. Contributes to the division and/or specialty goals and the Hospital Strategic Plan. Education Requirement Master of Science degree or equivalent provision. Licensure Requirement Licensed as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) or Physician Assistant (PA) in the state of Ohio. Certifications Maintains national certification as APRN in the appropriate population foci for the position, or PA.
