Physical Therapist - Inpatient - Rust Medical Center

Location 2400 Unser Blvd, Rio Rancho, NM 87124 Compensation Pay Range: $37.29 – $56.92 per hour Summary As a Physical Therapist and movement expert, you'll have the opportunity to improve patient quality of life through hands‑on care, patient education, and prescribed movement. Our inpatient rehabilitation teams are collaborative and patient‑focused. You'll work together with Physical Therapy Assistants to treat patients of all ages and abilities. Basic computer skills required. Basic understanding of the rules and regulations of the specific setting. Evaluate and treat patients regarding the application of a wide variety of therapeutic interventions for rehabilitation of physical function and developmental disorders. Must demonstrate knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the lifespan of patients served. Oversee and insure a comprehensive rehabilitation program designed to meet the physical, psychosocial, and immediate environmental well‑being of the patient. Promote patient/caregiver self‑determination by optimizing outside resource utilization to achieve the highest level of independence. Coordinate and communicate with various disciplines or services involved in patient care. Coordinate efforts toward discharge goals established at initial evaluation and during the episode of care. Act as a patient advocate. Other duties as assigned. Pediatric Physical Therapist: evaluate and treat infants, children, and adolescents for various health conditions, addressing motor development, strength, range of motion, endurance, balance, coordination, gait, etc. Interview children and family members, using physical examination to diagnose movement disorder. Ability to evaluate and treat patients from 18 years old and older; float to adult units if needed. Evaluate and treat pediatric patients from birth to 18 years old in inpatient and inpatient emergency department settings. Qualifications Less than one year of experience in physical therapy. New graduates are encouraged to apply. Bachelor's degree required. Doctor of Physical Therapy preferred. New Mexico license of Physical Therapy required. BLS required at time of hire.
