Registered Nurse - Clinical - Medical/Surgical

MO-SSM Health Saint Louis University Hospital is looking for a dedicated Registered Nurse to provide high‑quality, patient‑centered care primarily in the Intensive Care Units. Responsibilities Perform comprehensive nursing assessments and reassessments, including admission, transfer, post‑op and ongoing evaluation. Develop and evaluate individualized plan of care based on assessment data, physician orders, protocols, and evidence‑based practice. Provide and document nursing interventions, coordinate with the health team, administer medications, monitor IV fluids and nutrition, and refer as needed. Document ongoing evaluation of the effectiveness of care, patient education, and plan modifications. Deliver specialized care, including restraint management, pain management, abuse assessment, and infection control measures. Maintain accountability for professional practice, including quality standards, continuing education, and competencies. Collaborate with coworkers, supervise and educate new staff, and maintain a professional team environment. Implement safety and infection control policies, use safe patient‑handling techniques, and report risk‑management concerns. Provide high‑quality patient service: respectful communication, prompt response to call lights, and customer satisfaction. Apply performance improvement and evidence‑based practice, participate in unit goals, data collection, and improvement initiatives. Adapt care to age‑appropriate needs for adults and geriatric patients. Use resources efficiently and document chargeable supplies. Qualifications Licensed Registered Nurse in Missouri. Minimum one year of RN experience. Ability to work irregular hours, including night shift, and handle emergency situations. Physical ability to stand, walk, lift, and perform patient‑care tasks as required. Current BLS and HI certifications; completion of annual TB screening, influenza vaccination, ethics, safety training, and other mandatory courses. Proficiency in infection control, safe patient‑handling, and evidence‑based nursing practice.
