We also offer same-day and drop-off appointments to make veterinary care more accessible to our community. One day might involve wellness appointments and vaccines. The next could include radiographs, dental procedures, surgery, urgent-care patients, or helping a hospitalized patient recover. What You’ll Do As a Licensed Veterinary Technician, you'll work closely with our veterinarians and veterinary assistants to provide exceptional patient care and keep the hospital moving. Your day may include: Assisting with examinations, treatments, and procedures Obtaining and documenting accurate patient histories and vital signs Safe, compassionate restraint and low-stress handling of dogs and cats Preparing patients for surgery and dental procedures Assisting with anesthesia and patient monitoring Venipuncture and sample collection IV catheter placement and maintenance Running and preparing in-house laboratory diagnostics Assisting with digital radiology and diagnostic imaging Preparing patients for dental procedures and dental radiographs Administering vaccines and medications as directed Monitoring hospitalized, surgical, dental, and recovering patients Recognizing changes in patient condition and communicating concerns to the medical team Assisting with same-day and urgent-care appointments Preparing medications and discharge instructions Educating clients about medications, treatments, and home care Maintaining clean, organized treatment and patient-care areas Stocking supplies and helping maintain equipment Supporting patient flow and communicating with the entire hospital team Jumping in wherever you're needed to help the team succeed In short: you will be an important part of the medical team.
