This is a requirement for this role.Overview:As a Manager of Software Engineering reporting to the Sr Manager of Engineering, you'll lead multiple Agile teams to deliver high-quality software solutions. You'll own the technical design, drive execution from concept to post-launch, and ensure alignment with business goals and engineering best practices.Key Responsibilities:Lead and mentor cross-functional teams of developersChampion an AI-first culture, encouraging teams to rapidly innovate, experiment, and drive adoption of AI capabilities to enhance product performance and efficiencyDrive end-to-end delivery of software projects using Agile methodologiesOwn technical design and architecture decisions in collaboration with stakeholdersEnsure high-quality releases through strong process management and technical oversightPartner with product managers to align development with user needs and business prioritiesContinuously improve team performance, structure, and development practicesLead Operational Excellence efforts to improve our ability to support customer needs and avoid impact to patient outcomesRepresent PointClickCare by developing and maintaining comprehensive knowledge of PointClickCare products, industry and technical trends, and general business and financial acumen through various sources and initiativesCommunicate with customers in a compelling and articulate manner in both verbal and written conversations and presentations, demonstrating corporate core values and culture, developing professional and positive relationships with customers, and maintaining a reputation of competence, integrity and professionalismWhat You Bring:Proven experience leading software development teams and delivering enterprise applicationsStrong background in Java, Python, Spring, SQL, and web technologiesDeep understanding of Agile practices and software development life cycleExcellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skillsAbility to drive results, manage complexity, and foster a high-performance cultureLeveraging AI technologies and frameworks to deliver software solutionsQualifications:5–10 years of software development experience with most recent experience as a Development Manager or Team LeadSolid experience with the software development life cycle (e.g., gathering requirements, analysis and design, development, release and version control, deployment management), including:Good experience with Agile development methodologies (or similar), Java SDK 1.5 or higher, and utilizing SQL (e.g., writing queries)Previous experience utilizing the following technologies/toolsets/applications:Java Web Applications, Servlets, Servlet Filters, JSP, JSTL, JDBCSpring Framework 3.x or higher, including Spring MVCMicrosoft SQL ServerUsed HTML/CSS/JavaScriptWeb service platformsUtilizing Object Oriented Programming (OOP) principlesDeep understanding of Enterprise Software DesignStrong leadership skills – ability to lead by example, motivate others and continuously look for improvements in the work that you and your team performsDemonstrated troubleshooting and problem-solving skillsAbility to collaborate with multiple internal teams and managementStrong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills#LI-AV1#LI-Hybrid$164,000 - $182,000 a yearAt PointClickCare, base salary is one of the many components that make up our total rewards package. The USD base salary range for this position is $164,000-182,000+ bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by job and level. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the target for new hire salaries for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual compensation is determined by job-related skills and knowledge, relevant experience including professional and lived experience, and/or work location.
